Goemon Izakaya Bar & Karaoke Lounge
Goemon Izakaya Bar & Karaoke Lounge was created to carry forward a legacy of connection, comfort, and culinary excellence rooted in the izakaya tradition. Inspired by the original Goemon Sushi founded over 30 years ago by Iwao “Gan-san” Ishikawa in the Sunset District, this new Outer Richmond location reimagines that spirit for a new generation. Co-founded by John Tam, Lily Huang, and Kellie Chen, the team transformed the historic former Tee Off Bar & Grill into a vibrant 3,000 sq ft venue blending Japanese small plates, American comfort food, live music and private karaoke suites. The return of Chef Paul Groarke, the original chef/owner of Tee Off Bar & Grill —whose dishes once earned the space a spot on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives—adds a nostalgic touch. With a $70,000 renovation, a full bar, lantern-lit patio, and proximity to local landmarks, Goemon is more than a restaurant—it’s a place to eat, drink, sing, and celebrate community. Goemon Izakaya Bar & Karaoke Lounge hosts a variety of vibrant events that celebrate food, music, and community. Some of the standout events include: Tee Off Night of Nostalgia & Flavor with Chef Paul Groarke: Held every Wednesday, this event brings back the iconic dishes of Chef Paul from the original Tee Off Bar & Grill, including his famous Crafty Mac & Cheese, Achiote Pork Chop, and Wild Mushroom Risotto Live Karaoke Nights: Regularly hosted karaoke events where guests can enjoy Goemon’s professionally-hosted state-of-the-art open mic singing in a lively, social atmosphere. These nights are perfect for group celebrations or spontaneous fun
