Soups/Noodles
Sister Lin's Chicken Noodle Soup
This soup is named after my other sibling, Lili. It's heartwarming and good for the soul, and so is my little sister. The slow-cooked broth is flavored with various exotic herbs, before adding flat rice noodles, shredded chicken, vegetables and fried shallots.
Dan Dan Noodles
This is one of China’s most well-known dishes, understandably! It’s sweet, savory, spicy, and so flavorful. The sauce is made with different ingredients, but most importantly, it includes my dad’s special chili oil recipe. The crispy pork bites and roasted peanuts add extra crunch, not to mention incredible flavors!
Grandma's Peanut Noodles
This is one of my childhood favorites/staples. Creamy peanut sauce with layers of both sweet and savory taste makes this the most well-known noodle dish of Fuzhou, China. A visit to my grandparents’ place when I was little, and now my parents', would not be complete without a bowl of hot steamy peanut noodles. I’m excited to share a piece of my childhood with you!
Brother Lin's Beef Noodle Soup
My brother, Mike, is my biggest supporter when I decided to open Lin & Daughters so I named this soup in his honor. The broth is made by simmering beef bones in herbs and spices for many hours to extract the beef essence. The braised beef brisket are deliciously saturated with spices and herbs. I find it to be a comforting soup that I enjoy eating year round, but especially during the colder seasons.
Mom's Wonton Soup
This delicious and comforting soup is one of my mom's many specialities. The filling is made with pork and scallion, simple yet delicious. The wrapper is thinner than usual - a distinct character of Fuzhou style wontons. The light broth will kickstart your taste buds with its savory sourness.
Dumplings
Pan Fried Cumin Beef Dumplings W. Chili Sauce
This beef dumpling recipe is a result of combining my love for cumin and my dad’s secret for making the juicy flavorful beef filling. The onion and cilantro taste subtle but add a nice texture, as well as crispness to balance the earthy cumin seasoning.
Pan Fried Curry Chicken Dumplings
The filling of this dumpling is made w. ground chicken and celery. The mild and tasty Japanese curry enhances the flavor of the filling without being overpowering. Served with a side of house dumpling sauce.
Pan Fried Vegetable Dumplings
Golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these bite-worthy dumpling are multi-layered in flavor. The filling is made with fresh vegetables, shiitake mushroom and tofu. Served with a side of house dumpling sauce.
Shrimp Dumplings With Lime Chili Sauce
If you like seafood, you'll love this dumpling! The sweetness of the shrimp perfectly complements the tangy lime chili dressing. Topped with garlic crisp and cilantro.
Lin's Pork & Chive Dumplings
Baba Lin makes really mean dumplings and this is one of them. They are a burst of flavor, filled with pork and chives. The wrappers are distinctly southern Chinese-style, thin yet bouncy. Served with a side of house dumpling sauce.
