McAlister's Deli
Like most innovative concepts, the McAlister's Deli chain began as the simple idea of a restaurant novice. Their founder was a dentist who happened to have a passion for restaurants with fast, personal service and great food. He spent years tracking winners and losers, learning from both, watching for his chance to enter the game with something different. Joined by his sons, the founder developed McAlister's unique combination of hearty-sized deli fare, served quickly with a side of Southern charm. So, in 1989, he opened the original McAlister's Deli restaurant in a converted gas station in Oxford, Mississippi. As soon as you enter, you'll be greeted by their massive chalkboard menu filled with over 100 different items; sandwiches, spuds, salads, soups and sweets. The only thing missing is food that's fried or greasy — everything at McAlister's is made exactly the way you like it. Just don't forget to add a tall glass of McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea to your order. You can start sipping on that while you relax in their cozy dining area. And there's no need to get up when your order is ready, their servers will bring it straight to your table, as well as any other little extras you may need. It's all part of the McAlister's touch.
